Haitian migrants arrive illegally in Portland

The local authorities are processing more than 30 Haitians who arrived in Jamaica illegally on Monday afternoon.
 
Reports are that a boat carrying the migrants came ashore along the Boston Beach in Portland about 1:40 p.m.
 
This was confirmed by Superintendent Lloyd Darby, head of the Portland Police Division, who told Radio Jamaica News that arrangements are being made to provide the Haitians with housing and medical attention.
 
He said the group comprises 24 men, five women, five girls and three boys. 
 
Eight other illegal Haitian mirgrants have been found in Portland since the start of this year.
