The Kingston Public Hospital has launched an investigation into a brawl on a ward on Saturday, during which a worker injured and after which and three persons were taken into police custody.
According Lyttleton Chirley, Chairman of the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), an orderly and two visitors to the hospital got into a fight and the police were called in.
"Subsequent to that, a report is beign (prepared) now by the hospital about the incident and certainly the necessary decisions will taken, as to the outcome of the incident", Shirley told RJR News.
RJR News was told on Saturday evening that relatives went to visit a female patient, when they observed her in a "messy condition." The relatives later confronted an orderly on the ward, and the situation so escalated that, in full view of nurses and other patients, the orderly was badly beaten and sustained eye injuries.
