The Health Ministry has intensified its efforts to ensure Jamaicans travelling to yellow fever affected countries are able to receive their vaccines well ahead of time. It says it has increased the number of days the vaccinations are administered.
According to the Ministry, the decision was made based on the increase in the number of persons attending health centres recently for yellow fever vaccination.
It says the vaccinations will be administered at the Slipe Pen Road Comprehensive Health Centre in Kingston on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:30 in the morning to 4:00 in the afternoon.
It will also be administered at the Montego Bay Type 5 Health Centre in St. James every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Each vaccine costs $1,500 and should be administered at least ten days prior to travel.
