Hyatt suspends operations at seven Jamaica resorts until late 2026

There has been another blow to Jamaica's tourism industry after Hyatt Hotels announced the suspension of operations for seven of its hotels until November 1, 2026.

It follows an assessment of the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa, which affected the country in October.

The suspension will affect Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa, Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall, Secrets St. James Montego Bay, Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay and Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa.

The management of the hotel chain says this timeline would allow the properties to repair the damage caused by the storm at these resorts and also make enhancements.

It says at the opening of the hotels, it will deliver more unforgettable experiences and honour the high standards of Jamaican hospitality as the island completes its recovery.
