The Inter-American Development Bank is to launch the Sargassum Innovation Quest aimed at harnessing the potential of the sargassum biomass and improving the resilience in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The IDB says the initiative is being undertaken by IDB Lab, the bank's innovation laboratory, in collaboration with the IDB and IDB Invest and the United States government, through its agency USAID.
The call is open to proposals for technological solutions from startups, corporations, foundations, nonprofit organisations, and academic institutions, among others.
