The Ministry of Health & Wellness says it will resume face-to-face implementation of its flagship 'Jamaica Moves' campaign on Thursday,
The Jamaica Moves Reloaded, aimed at tackling lifestyle diseases, will feature back-to-school medicals, health checks, nutrition counselling and food preparation demonstrations.
The Health Ministry says it is to be held at Turtle River Park in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, at 10:00 a.m.
According to the latest Jamaica Health and Lifestyle Survey, seven out of 10 Jamaicans die from a non-communicable disease each year while one in three has hypertension and one in eight has diabetes.
As part of the response, the health ministry says Jamaica Moves will, in the coming months, see activations in communities, schools and workplaces.
