Desmond Haynes appointed to ICC's Men's Cricket Committee

Legendary West Indies opening batsman Desmond Haynes has been appointed to the ICC’s Men's Cricket Committee. Haynes joins the committee following the completion of the tenure of former West Indies all-rounder and respected cricket administrator Roger Harper.

The ICC Men's Cricket Committee plays a vital role in shaping the future of the game, as it makes recommendations on playing conditions and rules that affect cricket at all levels.

Reacting to the appointment, Cricket West Indies (CWI) president Dr Kishore Shallow said, Haynes’ proven track record in cricket administration and previous role as West Indies lead selector, gives him unique insights into both the technical and governance aspects of cricket.

The committee is chaired by a former international cricketer with at least 30 test matches or national captaincy experience. Members serve three-year terms, with the possibility of re-election for up to three consecutive terms.
