Jamaican in Japan - alive and well

      

 A former Communications Assistant at Jamaica National Building Society who is currently teaching English in Japan is alive and well following Friday's devastating earthquake.
    
Relatives and friends of Peter Kelly who also worked at the Ministry of Tourism had feared  the worse after not hearing from him.  
     
JN Group Communication Executive Carmen Tiplin, said Mr.Kelly contacted her by e-mail and related his ordeal.
      
According to  Mr.Kelly, he was at home  when the earthquake struck.
     
 He then dashed under a  bed, h and eventually crawled out  unscathed.
    
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister, Dr Ken Baugh, on Saturday announced that Jamaican officials made contact with 10 locals who live in the section of Japan which was hardest hit by the massive earthquake
     
However, there is still no contact with three Jamaicans, the good news is that they were not in the region that was severely impacted.
