A Jamaican citizen is to serve six and a half years in a US prison for distributing child pornography.
Rajiiv Isree, 32, was sentenced on Tuesday in the Western District of Wisconsin after pleading guilty in August.
Isree is likely to be deported following his release from prison, but if he is not, the prison term will be followed by 10 years of supervised release.
The court heard that on July 2, 2022, a 15-year-old girl reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Isree.
Further investigation showed that the defendant filmed the assault and sent a video of it to the complainant.
Law enforcement found additional videos on Isree's phone of him engaged in sexual activity with the minor.
At sentencing, Chief US District Judge James D. Peterson said the defendant took advantage of a vulnerable girl when he engaged in sexual conduct with her and that videoing the conduct amplified the harm to the victim.
