Opposition Leader Mark Golding, in his New Year's Message, is calling for Jamaicans to chart a better course and embrace fresh beginnings.
Mr Golding, lamenting a calendar year of violent crimes, is urging those in public office to model good behaviour as the country moves into a tense political season with the next general election due this year, asserting that the country's leaders "must ensure that there's no repetition of the offensive and divisive rhetoric, which sometimes soiled our national discourse in 2024."
"It offends the spirit of 'One Love' and violates the ideals of togetherness, embraced in our nation's motto: 'Out of Many, One People,' he stressed.
Mr Golding says the opposition People's National Party will also continue to press those in power on matters relating to the constitutional reform process, declaring that "Jamaica must now to full de-colonization and the establishment of full sovereignty for our people."
