Jamaicans go to the polls on September 3

Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness has announced that the next parliamentary general election will be held on Wednesday, September 3.

Nomination Day has been set for Monday, August 18.

This will be the third time that a general elections is being held in Jamaica on September 3, following those held in 2020 and 2007.

Dr Holness also announced that local government by elections will take place on the same day to fill vacancies in four divisions in the Kingston & St. Andrew Municipal Corporation - Chancery Hall, Olymic Gardens, Seiveright Gardens, and Denham Town.
