The Health Ministry has confirmed 20 additional cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 125.

The 20 additional cases include five males and 15 females, with ages ranging from two to 43 years.

Two are imported - a two year old from St. James and a 43 year-old from St. Catherine.

The other 18 persons are linked to Portmore, St. Catherine based call centre, Alorica.

These new cases bring to 52 the number of confirmed cases from Alorica.

The ministry said their ages range from 18 to 34 years.

They include 41 females and 11 males.

Forty-seven of the Alorica employees are from St. Catherine, three from Kingston and St. Andrew, one from Clarendon and one from Portland.

Health departments across Jamaica are currently tracing 432 close contacts of the confirmed cases.

News of the 20 additional cases in Jamaica came hours after global coronavirus infections passed the two million mark.

The United States is the world's worst-affected country with more than 620,000 infections and a death toll topping 30,000, doubling the number in a week.
