JCA seeking approval to reopen Queen's Warehouse

The Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) says it will be seeking approval from the Public Health Department for the reopening of the Queen's Warehouse following feedback from the Jamaica Fire Brigade.

The facility, which is located on Spanish Town Road, was closed last November due to the release of hazardous fumes.

Joycelyn Payne, Director of Marine Warehouses at Jamaica Customs, says the Public Health Department and the Fire Brigade were invited to conduct follow-up assessment of the facility, after a clean-up exercise, which included the disposal of all items not fit for sale.

Mrs. Payne says all persons involved in the clean-up were provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment.
