A Jamaican fugitive, Mark Christopher Blanton, who is
wanted in the United States (US), is scheduled to appear in the Sav-la-Mar
Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
Mr. Blanton is being sought by US police for drug trafficking, armed kidnapping and felonious assault.
According to a statement from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Mr. Blanton was arrested in Westmoreland last Thursday for breaches of the Immigration Act.
He reportedly gave his name as Jaydee Lovins of Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Florida but a fingerprint search revealed his real name.
The JCF said Mr. Blanton has been on the run since 2002.
It is reported that he came to Jamaica in 2003.
