The Jamaica Constabulary Force has received 3,000 e-ticketing devices, of which 700 have been in use since 2022.
Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson on Tuesday said the devices make the issuing of tickets more efficient, saying "police officers get highly productive with these, when it comes to issuing tickets."
He disclosed that more than 300,000 tickets had been issued so far with the 700 devices that have been in use since 2022, to emphasise the effeciency of the electronic method.
The Police Commissioner is appealing to motorists to exercise patience especially at this time of the year.
"What we hope to see is that we don't have reason to issue that many tickets, because traffic tickets are optional."
"You have a choice, and I believe that the best choice is not to do those things that are ticketable," he stressed.
