As the security forces prepare to step up their operations in crime hot spots the extended call out for members of the Jamaica National Reserve, reserve members of the Jamaica Regiment, Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Air Wing and the JDF Coast Guard goes into effect on Thursday, July 22, until August 18.
This is to facilitate the continued support of the police/military operations in sections of the country.
A JDF source told RJR News Wednesday night that there has been no change in plans despite the scheduled lifting of the State of Emergency come midnight on Thursday.
Since the period was declared on May 23, more than 4,000 suspects have been detained in the Corporate Area and some other parishes.
