Mickel Jackson, Executive Director of Jamaicans for Justice

The human rights advocacy body, Jamaicans for Justice is calling for protocols governing the proper use of body-worn cameras.

This response follows the announcement by the Jamaica Constabulary Force JCF that it had procured 1 thousand devices for the police and is  seeking to purchase another one thousand during the next financial year.

Executive Director of Jamaicans for Justice, Mickel Jackson says the government should consider making changes to the protocols governing the use of the cameras.

Ms Jackson says there also is need for a specific timeline for the additional body-worn cameras to be procured.
