The Board of the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) is on the hunt for a new Chief Executive Officer.

The contract of the former CEO, Enthrose Campbell, was not renewed after it expired on December 31.

Information Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon says Ms. Campbell, who served the agency for several years, rising through the ranks, had also reached retirement.

"She has been an integral part of the development of the Jamaica Information Service since the 1990s. And in recent years, she worked really hard to pivot JIS to the new realities of social media. The board of directors will lead the search for a new head of JIS to pick up and continue Enthrose Campbell's work."

With significant changes in the media landscape, Dr. Morris Dixon said JIS, like all other entities, "must pivot to provide relevant information in a form that is engaging and that can compete with all the other sources of information that are available today".

She said the current leadership of the organisation is fully capable of building on the gains made.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer is Celia Lindsay who currently has oversight of the agency.
