Jamaica Labour Party's Delroy Williams and People's National Party's Colin Campbell
Jamaica's two major political parties have named their teams who will go head to head on major issues including social issues and the economy in three rounds of national debates.
The action will include a leaders debate where Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Mark Golding will match up in a high stakes exchange.
The first debate is set for August 23.
Jamaica Labour Party representative for the debates, Delroy Williams, outlined the names of those who will participate.
For the social issues debate on Saturday August 23, he said the JLP will be represented by Pearnel Charles Jr., Kamina Johnson Smith, and Matthew Samuda.
With respect to the economy debate on Tuesday August 26, Fayval Williams, Christopher Tufton, and Dana Morris Dixon are the JLP's representatives.
People's National Party Debate Coordinator for the Jamaica Debate Commission, Colin Campbell, also outlined the names of those who will participate for the PNP.
"For the People's National Party, our social policy debaters are Mr. Damion Crawford, Mr. Raymond Pryce and Mrs. Sophia Fraser-Binns. The team debaters on the economy are Mr. Julian Robinson, Mr. Peter Bunting, and Mrs. Kisha Anderson," Mr. Campbell disclosed.
The leadership debate will take place on Thursday August 28.
Each debate will begin at 9 p.m. and end at 10:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Jamaica Debates Commission, Brian Schmidt, has revealed the names of participating journalists in the upcoming debates.
On social issues, they are Janella Precius of TVJ News, who will act as moderator; Romardo Lyons of TVJ News, who will be a questioner; as well as Natalie Campbell from Irie FM News, who will also act as a questioner.
For the economy debate, George Davis will act as moderator, while Dashan Hendricks from the Jamaica Observer and Andrea Chisholm from TVJ News will act as questioners.
On the leadership debate, Archibald Gordon will act as moderator, while Dionne Jackson Miller from a TVJ and Radio Jamaica as well as Giovanni Dennis from CVM News, who will also act as questioners.
Amoy Harriott from CVM News will act as the social media moderator for each debate.
