JLP pushes back at vote buying claims

JLP Spokesperson Kamina Johnson Smith

The Jamaica Labour Party has criticised comments made by the People's National Party regarding the staging of the recent parliamentary general elections.

In a release the PNP expressed deep concern about what it says are widespread reports of vote buying and voter suppression in the recent general election.

JLP Spokesperson Kamina Johnson Smith characterised the statement as highly disturbing.

She added that Jamaica's electoral aparatus is a model being sought after by other countries.

She also said the JLP is also in the process of looking into feedback from its candidates alleging improper conduct by the PNP.
