The Jamaica Labour Party's Donovan Williams has retained his seat in the Kingston Central constituency after the final count of ballots following Wednesday's general election.
The final count, completed on Friday evening, saw Mr. Williams reversing the result of the preliminary count that had the People's National Party's Steve McGregor as the victor.
Following the preliminary count, Mr. McGregor had received 4,739 votes to the 4,727 received by Mr. Williams - a margin of 12 votes.
But after Friday's final count, Mr. Williams prevailed, garnering 4,832 to Mr. McGregor's 4,753.
Speaking with the media after the final count, Mr. Williams said he was always confident that he would have retained the seat.
"I'm feeling satisfied and accomplished that the correct results have been certified now. I always knew I am the winner, it's just a matter of time," he said.
