JLP's Matthew Samuda wins North East St. Ann by-election

The Jamaica Labour Party's Matthew Samuda has won the by-election in St. Ann North Eastern. 
 
At the end of the preliminary count, Mr. Samuda received 4,838 votes. 
 
Independent candidate David Anderson got 222 votes, while Chase Neil of the United Independents' Congress received 30 votes.
 
The Electoral Office of Jamaica said the voter turnout for Monday's by-election was 11.6 per cent. 
 
The final count will take place on Tuesday.
