JMDA hoping for settlement of issues following meeting with gov't

By Lorraine Walker

The Jamaica Medical Doctors Association says its members are partially satisfied with the outcome of Monday morning's meeting with the Ministries of Health and Finance.

In an update on Monday afternoon, JMDA President Dr. Renee Badroe told Radio Jamaica News it is now up to the Ministry of Finance to do its due diligence and ensure an agreement can be reached.

Speaking with our newscentre on Sunday, Dr. Badroe said the doctors were hoping Monday's meeting would have led to a resolution of outstanding matters.

Sticking points for the doctors include the rate and implementation date for overtime pay, the change in the format of remuneration for about 500 members and the establishment of permanent posts.
