Sections of Gravel
Heights and Tredegar Park
in St. Catherine are tense in what the police say is an ongoing gang feud
involving members of the One Order and Klansman Gangs in the area.
The latest episode which occurred early Wednesday morning left one woman from Tredegar Park nursing gunshot wounds.
She was reportedly shot in the head, chest and hand.
Residents reported hearing explosions in the community close to 7am and found the woman injured.
RJR News has been told that members of the Klansman gang, operating out of a section of Gravel Heights and the One Order gang, operating from the lower end of Tredegar Park have been engaged in hostilities for weeks.
The conflict has reportedly spread to neighbouring Riverside Park, where two persons, allegedly connected to one of the gangs, were killed last month.
After these deaths, a man in the area, who is said to be the brother of the One Order Gang leader, was shot and killed.
The police say they are experiencing great challenges as they receive little or no cooperation from residents.
