The Kingston & St Andrew Municipal Corporation says it's satisfied with measures put in place by the organizers of Carnival Jamaica to clean up the city following this weekend's events.

Last year the revelers left a trail of garbage along several thoroughfares as adequate measures were not put in place to ensure clean up after the events.

The National Solid Waste Management Authority is expected to play a leading role in the clean-up exercise.

Kingston's mayor, Andrew Swaby, revealed that his team has been meeting with various stakeholders, including the organizers and the NSWMA, and affirmed that he was  satisfied with the plans outlined.

Mayor Swaby says a clean up schedule is in place to ensure there is no repeat of last year.

Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority Audley Gordon also said his agency was prepared to clean the city after this weekend's festivities.
