Chairman of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation Andrew Swaby says stakeholders are hard at work to restore normality to affected communities.
During a tour of West Rural St. Andrew on Thursday, Mr. Swaby said downed trees have blocked vehicular access to several areas.
He said clean up activities will get underway shortly.
Mr. Swaby said 38 shelters housed more than 330 people during the hurricane. Of the those shelters, 11 have since been closed or deactivated, which accounts for about 119 people.
The mayor said his teams are working to ascertain the exact number of people still in shelters. He said some homeless people are among those who have left.
