The team of  lawyers representing the family of Mario Deane is in Florida as the lawyers continue to raise international awareness of the case.

A press conference has been scheduled for Friday outside the Jamaican Consulate.

Attorney at law Miguel Lorne told RJR News that he will be joined by US attorneys Jasmine Rand and Benjamin Crump.

“Benjamin Crump has agreed to be a part of our team and we will be lending tremendous support to ensure that not only do we get justice for Mario Deane but that the Jamaica Government will understand that this aspect of people being killed in police custody must stop and that is what we are going  to be highlighting internationally,” Lorne said

Deane, who will be buried on Sunday, sustained fatal injuries after being beaten at the Barnett Street police lock-up early last month.

Meanwhile, Lorne expects to get the post mortem report from independent pathologist Dr. Michael Baden  who conducted the autopsy on the body of Deane two weeks ago.

“Certainly, as soon as I get it I will make excerpts from it available to you all, so certainly by Monday I will be making it available,” he promised.
