LIME Square - a historic landmark

 

The Carlton Crescent offices of telecommunications company, LIME Jamaica, has been named ‘LIME Square’ and dedicated a historic landmark in celebration of Jamaica’s 50th anniversary of Independence.

The Half Way Tree Road location, which has been the nucleus of the company’s’ operations over the past 50 years exploded with colour and performances as company executives and dignitaries participated in the naming ceremony and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

LIME’s Regional Vice-President for Marketing and Communications, Grace Silvera, said the decision was made to dedicate the area given its historic significance of being the “genesis of telecommunications in Jamaica."

 In celebration of Jamaica 50, LIME has also launched a line of commemorative souvenir items including jackets, bags and other novelties which are available to customers who purchase pre-paid and post-paid handset valued at $15,000 and $10,000 or more respectively
