A man died from bullet wounds he sustained during a gun attack near the Transport Centre in Half Way Tree, St. Andrew, on Tuesday.

The man was loading vehicles at the intersection of North Odean Avenue and Constant Spring Road, sometime before 6 p.m., when he was approached by a man who shot him.

Assistant Commissioner Gary McKenzie, head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, told Radio Jamaica News that members of his team who were in the area responded, but the gunman escaped.

He said the wounded man was taken to hospital but later died.
