Disbarred attorney Jennifer Messado is to stand trial on September 12 on allegations that she defrauded dancehall entertainer, Mavado, of more than $30 million.
The date was set on Thursday afternoon when the case was mentioned before the St. Andrew Parish Court.
On May 5, the court is to decide whether Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, will be allowed to give testimony via video link from the US.
This follows an application from his attorney Oswest Senior Smith.
Mrs Messado is accused of defrauding the entertainer in a real estate deal in 2018.
