MOCA makes two more arrests in phishing scam targeting NCB accounts

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) has arrested two more persons in connection with its continuing investigation of a $47.5 million phishing scam at National Commercial Bank.

The latest suspects to be arrested are a 25 year-old man of Cassava Piece, St. Andrew, and a 24 year-old woman of Gregory Park, Portmore.

The man was picked up at his home Thursday morning, while the woman was arrested in Gregory Park on Wednesday.

Fourteen persons are now in custody in connection with this investigation.

The offences took place during the period April to June 2022, when members of an organized crime syndicate targeted sixteen NCB accounts in a phishing scam and transferred the funds to a number of beneficiaries' accounts.
