Wright aiming to compete in 2 sporting disciplines at Commonwealth Games

Olympian Chad Wright has set his sights on competing in two different sporting disciplines at this year's Commonwealth Games in Glascow, Scotland. 

The 31 year old Wright qualified for the 2026 CAC Games in the sport of weightlifting late 2025 as he took another step to becoming a bona fide dual sport athlete for Jamaica. He’s currently ranked 8th in the commonwealth region in his division in weightlifting.

The Commonwealth Games will be held from July 23 to August 2 in Glascow, Scotland, while the CAC Games will be held from July 24 to August 8 in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic.
