BOJ's certificate of deposit to withdraw $26 billion oversubscribed

Private and public sector institutions, along with individual investors, placed more funds with the Bank of Jamaica than it sought to absorb during Tuesday's liquidity operation.

The central bank aimed to withdraw $26 billion from circulation through a fixed rate certificate of deposit, paying 6% per annum.

However, investors and money changers submitted 356 bids totalling $51.3 billion.
