The lack of electricity in sections of St. Elizabeth pushed frustrated residents of two communities to block major thoroughfares on Wednesday morning.
The roads from Santa Cruz to Malvern and a section of Southampton are impassable.
Residents of Southampton have used downed trees and stones to block the areas.
Meanwhile, the Holland Bamboo main road was cleared shortly after it was blocked by residents of Middlesex and Holland Village who are demanding the restoration of electricity.
Motorists teamed with personnel from the Jamaica Defence Force to clear the road.
Residents used bamboo, stones, old refridgerators and other debris to prevent access in the vicinity of Holland bridge from about 4:30.
The residents told Radio Jamaica News that a section of the community was restored but there is no timeline for the completion of the work.
