Additional space has been created for patients at May Pen Hospital in Clarendon.

St. Andrade Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, said the Clarendon Health Department, which was situated on the hospital's compound, has been relocated and the area retrofitted to house the Outpatient department.

The previous Outpatient department will now be used to house patients "who have been sitting in chairs or on stretchers because of lack of space on the ward," he said.

Mr. Sinclair said 50 bed spaces have been created at the Accident and Emergency department.
