Motorists are being urged to avoid the Bog Walk Gorge area in St. Catherine as the Rio Cobre is rising to dangerous levels and is close to overflowing its banks.
Stephen Shaw, Communication Manager at the National Works Agency, advised motorists heading in that area to "turn around" as the "water is about to get over Flat Bridge."
Mr. Shaw also urged motorists to avoid Fern Gully in St. Ann. Fallen trees have blocked a section of the road, making it accessible only to single lane traffic.
He warned that the road could become impassable soon.
