Anthony Hylton, MP for St. Andrew Western
Member of Parliament for St Andrew Western, Anthony Hylton, is calling for a full investigation into the alleged video-taping and posting of a constituent, popularly known as Rosalee Dixon, by the police.
The incident arose from a police operation which occurred at Ms. Dixon's home on February 8 and resulted in the video-taping of Ms. Dixon in a state of undress by someone, suspected to be a member of the police party carrying out the action.
Reacting to the incident, Mr Hylton described the encounter as a cyber-crime that must be met with reprimand for those reportedly responsible.
"It this was done by the police, as alleged, it represents a new low in policing, one that must never be tolerated by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, nor by the society at large," he said.
Investigation
The JCF, in response, says it has launched an investigation into the incident.
The matter will be probed by the criminal investigation branch [CIB] and the Inspectorate & Professional Oversight Bureau.
The JCF says the case is being taken seriously and the necessary corrective action will be taken based on its findings.
In the response Sunday, the JCF added it is determined to maintain the public's trust and maintain the standards of professionalism among members.
