Opposition Member of Parliament for South West Clarendon Noel Arscott says he is against the move by Police Commissioner Hardley Lewin to downgrade the police station in Exeter, Clarendon to a police post.
Mr. Ascott is calling on National Security Minister Derrick Smith to ensure that a police station remains in the community.
He says if the station which was damaged during the passage of Hurricane Dean is downgraded, the community will be left even more vulnerable to criminal elements.
Police personnel abandoned the station in December, as it is without a roof.
