Northern Caribbean University
(NCU) is to officially open its newest campus in Salem,
Runaway Bay,
St. Ann.
At a cost of 30 million Jamaican dollars, the St. Ann based campus is to cater to persons living in that section of the island.
Previously, NCU operated a campus at the Brown's Town Community College but has outgrown that facility.
The first phase of construction, that is now underway, is geared towards expansion of an existing building and will end just before August 25, the scheduled date for the beginning of the new module.
In October, when the second phase of construction is scheduled to be completed, the facilities at the Salem-Runaway Bay campus will comprise three administrative offices, and approximately thirteen classrooms.
A server room, computer laboratory, library and a hospitality suite to be used by students pursuing Hospitality Management courses will also be built.
