The Old Harbour Health Centre in St. Catherine has been
closed.
Acting Parish Manager for the St. Catherine Health Services, David Dobson, told the RJR News Centre Tuesday morning that the facility has been closed to carry out the repairs to the roof of the building.
He said temporary repairs have not served as a long lasting fix because residents from the area have been removing the items used.
"As a result of the heavy rains the health centre was affected. The decision was therefore made to carry out some urgent repairs which we are in the presence of doing. We were hoping the facility would have been restored today but the work is not finished," said Mr. Dobson.
Last Monday, staff members at the Health Centre threatened to take industrial action if the Southern Regional Health Authority did not correct the problems associated with the bad roof at the facility.
