Old Harbour Market tangled in illegal electrical wiring

The St. Catherine Parish Council is facing a major challenge in clamping down on the illegal extraction of electricity from the Old Harbour Market.

Teams from the Council and the police last Friday removed several illegal wires from a Jamaica Public Service utility pole.

However, it is reported that over the weekend the wires were replaced by unauthorized persons.

Mayor of Spanish Town, Dr. Andrew Wheatly, is warning that persons who continue the practice will be prosecuted by the police.
