Opposition Leader Andrew Holness has called for Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips, to outline the government's strategy for achieving growth.
The call comes as Mr Holness on Thursday declared that the Parliamentary Opposition will not support the imposition of additional taxes at this time.
He said the government cannot, on the one hand shrink the economy, while on the other hand, expect to get more taxes out of it.
According to the Opposition Leader, the only solution to the country's fiscal dilemma is to grow the economy.
He said the tax package imposed in February last year, had, so far, been unsuccessful, and the recently reported tax revenue shortfall was worrying.
Mr Holness charged that this was a consequence of poor policy and ineffective implementation.
