Payments for driver's licence renewal can now be done through TAJ online portal

Effective today (Monday), persons who renew their driver's licence can make payments online using Tax Administration Jamaica's portal.

TAJ says once the payment has been made using a credit card or other bank cards that have credit card features, the customer will be able to generate their receipt from the system.

Persons will be required to visit any tax office with a printed copy of the receipt, completed application for Driver's Licence Transactions and passport sized photograph of the applicant not taken more than six months prior.

Once the licence has been processed, the customer will be contacted by TAJ and advised of the date for collection.

TAJ says while the renewed licenced is being processed, motorists will be allowed to operate a motor vehicle using the receipt, as proof of payment, along with their current or expired driver's licence, for a period not exceeding 60 days.
