The Government is proceeding with plans to build a new Accident and Emergency unit at the Percy Junor Hospital in Spalding, Manchester.
Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, who is also the Member of Parliament for the constituency in which the hospital is located, says the National Health Fund (NHF) has committed $30 million to undertake the project.
He has given the undertaking to ensure that provision is made quickly to organise the project.
Mr. Shaw has urged the hospital’s management to provide the requisite project information in order to determine a timeline for the first draw down from the NHF.
Just under 40,000 patients are admitted to the Accident and Emergency department at Percy Junor Hospital, which was built 70 years ago.
