The People's National Party (PNP) is confident that its representatives will retake control of the St. Mary Municipal Corporation in the upcoming local government elections.

The corporation is chaired by Richard Creary of the Jamaica Labour Party.

In an interview with Radio Jamaica News, Member of Parliament for St. Mary Central Dr. Morais Guy was asked about the party's chances of a majority win.

He said the PNP will be "pulling out all stops" to secure victory.

"We have our organisation on the ground. It is oiled, it is ready, it is waiting on the date the government is going to announce this. We are confident that the People's National Party will get back the leadership of the St. Mary Municipal Corporation because we have had our councillor candidates...who are representing the party have been working very hard on the ground and they have been getting the support of the people of St. Mary," he declared.
