The Westmoreland Police have confirmed that the main suspect in the murder of a couple in Content on Tuesday was killed during a confrontation on Wednesday afternoon.
Superintendent Othneil Dobson, Commanding Officer for the division, said Tevin Robinson - otherwise called 'Shawn Storm' - was identified as the triggerman in the killing of 56-year-old Marlene Daley-Hall and Kirk Hall, who were both higglers.
The couple's house was also set on fire after they were shot.
Superintendent Dobson said Mr. Robinson and another man were spotted by a police team in the Bluefields area about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
"The police alighted from the marked service vehicle and gave clear instructions to the men not to move. Both men started running and Robinson started firing at the police. The police took evasive action, returned the fire. Robinson continued running while shooting at the police. When they shooting in subsided, Robinson was found clutching a 9mm pistol with two live rounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead," he reported.
Superintendent Dobson said Mr. Robinson was before the Westmoreland Parish Court on a murder charge and was a "known violence producer" within the area.
"I'm taking this medium to urge the citizens of Westmoreland to continue to work with the police as we try to rid the communities of these violent criminals," he pleaded.
