Police Federation summons delegates for discussion on wage negotiations

The Central Executive of  the Police Federation has summoned delegates to a meeting this morning. It will discuss the ongoing wage negotiations with the Government.

Officials of  the Finance Ministry, led by Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips, met with the Central Executive on Monday in an attempt to defuse tension between the Federation and Horace Dalley, Minister with Responsibility for the Public Service.

A source who spoke with RJR News declined to say whether there had been improvements to the Government's wage offer. The Central Executive recently wrote to the Finance Minister, requesting his intervention.

Wage talks nearly collapsed after the Federation's team declared that it had no confidence in Mr Dalley leading the discussions.
