Members of the Major Investigations Division and the Area Four police are continuing their investigation into Monday morning's deadly attack along Molynes Road in St. Andrew in which three men, including a Jamaica Defence Force Private, were killed.
The JDF member is 26-year-old Fernando Wayne Dixon.
The other men have been identified as 29-year-old Marlon Rattray, an Indriver of St. James Avenue, off Maxfield Avenue and 25-year-old Shemar Foster, of Palm Grove, off Spanish Town Road.
An M16 rifle and a semi-automatic pistol with two magazines were seized on the scene.
Commander of the Area Four Police Headquarters, Acting Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps, says the preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident is linked to an ongoing conflict between the Rome gang based in the St Andrew Central Police Division and the William Lane gang operating in the Kingston Western division.
Acting ACP Phipps says Private Dixon and other men left a nightclub along Constant Spring Road in an Audi motorcar when they were attacked by rival gang members on Molynes Road:
"After leaving the club, members of the Rome gang were travelling in the motor car along Molynes Road when two men who we believe are aligned to the William Lane gang and travelling on a motorcycle opened gunfire on the said motor car being driven by the now deceased. The motor car collided with the motorcycle which resulted in serious injuries to the rider and the pillion rider," he reported.
Acting ACP Phipps said the quick action of the police led to the seizure of the two firearms and the arrest of the two men.
Two other men, known as 'Mushy Gushy' and Wizzle', are being sought.
The men are urged to report to the Half Way Tree Criminal Investigations Branch.
