The Police High Command has reportedly ordered a probe in connection with the birthday party held for retired Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt, last Friday.
Bolt has tested positive for COVID-19.
Investigators told Radio Jamaica News they are trying to determine whether a permit was granted for the event.
They are also investigating whether footballers Leon Bailey and Raheim Sterling attended Bolt's party in breach of the 14-day mandatory quarantine order for persons returning to the island.
Sterling last played for English team Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Lyon in Portugal on August 15.
According to Sky Sports, Sterling returned a negative result after undergoing a COVID-19 test in Jamaica.
Meanwhile, Leon Bailey featured in the Europa League quarter final in Germany on August 10.
Several popular entertainers including Ding Dong and Chris Martin also attended the birthday party.
The Ministry of Health says contact tracing is ongoing.
