The police have released the name of the woman arrested in connection with the abduction of a baby from the Kingston Public Hospital.
She is 40 year-old Sushana Greenfield, a vendor of Oxford Street, Kingston.
The woman was charged on Tuesday with child stealing, based on the complainant's statement.
The infant has been hospitalised for observation and is said to be in good physical condition.
It was reported that the baby's parents went to the Kingston Public Hospital with her on Monday for the mother to receive treatment.
On completion of the medical examination, the father left the baby in the care of the mother, who uses a wheelchair, and went to purchase food outside the facility.
Ms Greenfield is accused of abducting the infant after initially convincing the mother to assist her by holding the baby.
